The parties designate the addresses mentioned above as their official locations for the initiation of any legal proceedings.

Whereas the Owner intends to hire the Sitter, and the Sitter consents to provide services in accordance with the terms outlined in this Pet Sitting Agreement, the Pet Information sheet(s), and the Veterinary Release Form, all of which shall be incorporated into this Agreement. Any mention of pets within this document pertains specifically to those listed on the Pet Information sheet(s).

Compensation

An invoice will be sent via email on the final day of service, with a payment period of seven days. Additional charges may arise for necessary purchases related to the care of the pet(s), which may include, but are not limited to, pet food, litter, cleaning supplies, transportation, unplanned visits, and emergency healthcare expenses. The Sitter will keep and provide receipts as evidence of any extra costs incurred.

It is the Owner’s responsibility to confirm their return and availability to resume care of the property and pet(s) by or on the last day of this Agreement. If the Owner fails to do so, the Sitter may conduct additional visits to ensure the well-being of the pet(s).

Cancellation or Termination 

Either party has the right to terminate this Pet Sitting Contract by providing at least 48 (forty-eight) hours’ notice before the first scheduled visit, without facing any penalties or damages.
If the Owner fails to provide the required notice or cancels during recognized holiday periods, a cancellation fee of 50% of the total amount due will be applied.
In the event that the Sitter, as the sole proprietor, must cancel less than 48 hours before the Owner’s departure due to unforeseen circumstances, they may designate a substitute with the Owner’s written consent, and any difference in fees will be the responsibility of the Sitter.
If a pet exhibits aggressive or dangerous behavior, the Sitter may:

– Coordinate with the pet’s owner or emergency contact to take over responsibility for the pet until the Owner returns;
– Place the pet in a kennel or animal care facility at the Owner’s expense if the Guardian is unable or unwilling to take responsibility for the pet.

Liability

The Sitter will carry out the assigned responsibilities to the best of his/her abilities and in a conscientious manner. The Sitter assumes no responsibility for any security breaches or for the loss or damage to the Owner’s property if any other individual has access to the premises during the duration of this agreement. 

Furthermore, the Sitter shall not be held accountable for any incidents that may occur to a pet or that may be caused by a pet with unsupervised outdoor access. The Owner will be responsible for all medical costs and damages resulting from any injury inflicted on the Sitter by the pet, as well as for any damage to the Owner’s property. The Sitter is exempt from all liability associated with transporting pet(s) to and from any veterinary clinic or kennel, as well as for the medical treatment of the pet(s) and the associated costs. 

Emergencies:

 In the case of an emergency, the Sitter will reach out to the Owner using the provided contact numbers to confirm the Owner’s preferred course of action. If the Owner cannot be contacted promptly, the Sitter is authorized to:

• Take the pet(s) to the designated veterinarian listed on the pet & owner sheet

• Request on-site treatment from a veterinarian • Transport the pet(s) to an emergency clinic if the previous two options are not viable.

Security

The Sitter agrees to safeguard and maintain the confidentiality of all keys, remote entry devices, access codes, and personal information belonging to the Owner. These items must be returned to the Owner at the conclusion of the contract or upon request.

Entire Agreement

This Pet Sitting Contract, along with the Pet and Owner’s Information Sheet(s) and the attached veterinary release form, represents the complete and exclusive agreement between the parties concerning the subject matter herein. The parties forfeit the right to depend on any purported express or implied provisions not included in this document. Any modifications to this agreement must be documented in writing and signed by both parties.

Assignment
No party is permitted to transfer any of its rights or delegate any of its obligations under this Pet Sitting Contract without obtaining prior written consent from the other party. However, in cases of severe weather or a genuine emergency that prevents the Sitter from performing their duties, the pet’s Guardian may be asked to take care of the pet(s).

General
The parties agree that any portion of this agreement may be presented to the other party in a clear and recordable electronic format. Once the receiving party acknowledges receipt, such portions shall be considered valid components of the agreement.
